Photon detectors for neutrino telescopes

The tremendous success of neutrino telescopes witnessed today is primarily due to their 'workhorses,' photon detectors. Photon detectors used in neutrino telescopes are briefly reviewed, and various approaches to the development of these devices for suchlike applications are described. Prospects for the creation of photon detectors for next-generation neutrino telescopes are discussed.
