Thermodynamics of simple quantum systems

Federal Research Center A.V. Gaponov-Grekhov Institute of Applied Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, ul. Ulyanova 46, Nizhny Novgorod, 603000, Russian Federation

A set of examples is presented to illustrate the principles of quantum thermophysics, a theory in which systematic quantum mechanical calculations are used to derive thermodynamic relations.
